Playing yarn chicken... and didn't even know it
Yarn chicken, for those unfamiliar with the term, is the race to get to the end of your knitting row/round/garment/art before you run out of yarn. Running out of yarn in the middle of a row when you've got more yarn waiting is mildly annoying, but an easy enough fix. Running out of yarn when you're not quite done with the garment -and there is no more yarn anywhere- is a sad and unpleasant game.
Yesterday I started a 3-d heart for the next Assaulted Hearts piece (details later), grabbed a small skein of yarn leftover from Stitches West, and started another heart. Just as I finished the second half, I reached down to finish the bind off, and found this much yarn left. I won at yarn chicken, and didn't know I was playing!
